Before meeting Dr. Jared Cotton, superintendent, Henry County, Virginia, we studied his district website. We wanted to learn more about Dr. Cotton and some of the exciting initiatives in his district. Dr. Cotton includes a Shelfari on his website — a digital, revolving shelf of books he is reading. We loved the idea and asked if we might honorably borrow the Shelfari idea for Virginia STEAM Academy. Above, then, are a few selections we are reading as we strive to reflect what we hope to nurture: creative, ethical, imaginative STEAM leaders who understand and embrace the humanities.
